Abstract \u00ad Three-dimensional geometry in leading 3D CAD systems is described by surfaces of the high order, and when being triangulated the surface of the model is divided into small triangles \u2013 facets. Currently, large number of research and commercial software packages are developed on the basis of one or another iterative method that implement the building of grids in automatic mode. However, only some software makes it based on STL-files, and even more rarely similar software packages support two types of STL-files. That\u2019s why the work is aimed to develop the information technology of the distribution with a given degree of discreteness of the contour 3D model STL into the tetrahedron. To confirm the effectiveness of information technology, an experimental software product was created that is used to generate a tetrahedron\u2019s grid based on data from STL-files. Within the framework of the proposed information technology, an algorithm for scaling a given unstructured calculated triangular grid has been developed.
