Software-defined radio technology (SDR) allows you to embed wireless devices that support multiple radio interfaces and modulation formats. SDR is a radio frequency communications system that is customizable using software. The following components are configured in the SDR: – mixers for step-up and step-down frequency converters; amplifiers, modulators and demodulators; radio frequency detector; filters. The article is devoted to the study of the effect of interpolation and decimation on the quality of signal transmission in digital communication systems. When performing processing at the informational message rate, the SDR uses Digital Down Converter (DDC) and Digital Up Converter (DUC). The study of interpolation and decimation of signals in digital communication systems and the distortions that arise in this case is an urgent task. CIC filters were chosen as an interpolator and decimator because they do not require multiplication operations. Compensation filters smooth out the uneven frequency response of the CIC filter. Filters with the characteristic of the square root of the raised cosine were used as forming filters on the transmitter and receiver side, which ultimately ensures minimal intersymbol interference. The results obtained allow us to conclude that interpolation and the following signal decimation are accompanied by effects of signal amplification, a decrease in the rise time of the pulse, a decrease in the signal quality factor, a violation of symbol synchronization, which increase with increasing interpolation-decimation coefficients.
