The article analyses information on installed capacity of renewable energy sources in Ukraine, for example solar, wind, water and bioresources energy, data according to the International Renewable Energy Agency. The results of power generation of solar power plants (SPP) and hydroelectric power plants (HPP) in Vinnytsia region are determine, and the months with maximum and minimum generation are revealed. In Ukraine, there are \u00abgreen\u00bb tariffs for power generated by economic entities, which using renewable energy sources and surcharges to green tariffs, while maintaining the level of use of Ukrainian production equipment. The tariff for power supply to the power market for RPS is on average at the level of 12-15 euro cents per 1 kWh for NPP (nuclear power plants) – 1.8 euro cents. This poses certain risks to the stability of not only the distribution grids but also the energy system as a whole. The analysis of the obtained graphs has made it possible to conclude that modern small HPPs have a great potential for development due to increasing interest in renewable resources and distributed power generation; however, the variable hydrological conditions found in river-based hydropower projects require operations to expand water flows and divert flows. Therefore, the article proposes to improve the structure of elements of hydro-complexes and their control systems. Improved design of micro-HPP is proposed for private households. It is offered to use foreign experience of using an innovative concept of hydropower integration, which operates at a variable speed and is operated by a specially adapted program that increases the overall efficiency and operational range of the HPP. The hydropower designs used in the proposed solution will improve the efficiency of the HPP by expanding the operating range.
