The article analyzes the artistic and design characteristics of models of women’s clothing collection in the military style with use of flat decoration. Fashion trends were analyzed and determined that the style of “Military” in the autumn-winter 2018-2019 gaining popularity, the world’s leading designers are developing their collections in this style. In the course of research, the main features of the military style are identified: the presence of or the imitation of the chases; stripes on the pants; military jacket with ribbons in the form of orders and military symbols; metallic buttons of large diameter which depict the symbols of the army; leather straps with massive buckles; trousers; shirts and blouses with a collar-stand; coats and jackets of equal cut. It is determined that the assortment of decoration used in the production of modern women’s, men’s and children’s clothes from various materials is quite diverse. For the decoration of clothes used as traditional, long-known species, as well as new, non-traditional, associated with the properties of specific materials and the emergence of new technologies of finishing decoration. A more detailed look at the flat kind of decoration, namely, the author’s art painting, since it is trendy this season. Flat decoration is performed directly on the surface of the product details, while the spatial shape of the material does not change. Author’s art painting breaks into the fashion world rapidly and fills it with products with exclusive and unique images, since it is almost impossible to create an identical picture manually. Probably, this gives such products a high competitiveness in the fashion industry, as a potential buyer is currently very discerning and wants to stand out among others. Having analyzed the fashion trends in styles and clothes, it is possible to assume that designing a military-style collection using a flat type of decoration, namely, the author’s artistic textile decoration, will be very successful. These studies can be used to further develop a collection of women’s clothing.
