This article discusses the main areas of research and the results obtained using biofuels from rapeseed oil in diesel engines. Provides data on the impact of various ways to improve efficiency. The methods of intensification of combustion with the use of pure rapeseed oil as fuel are considered. The results of the optical research of the fuel torch are given. Experimental work has been carried out to evaluate the features of a diesel engine using biofuels – engine performance indicators, pressure and fuel supply parameters (pressure and lift of the nozzle atomizer needle), as well as indicators of harmful emissions (nitrogen oxides NO x, carbon monoxide CO and particulate matter C). In the process of analysis, the above-mentioned methods of using biofuels were investigated. Also, special studies have been carried out to evaluate the processes occurring when working on fuels with other physicochemical properties. The easiest way is to use pure rapeseed oil as fuel. In the course of the research, the amount of fuel injected into the combustion chamber and its calorific value was recorded. Normal standard adjustments and complete sets of the engine for its work on the standard petrol diesel were standardized. During the experiment and processing, the data were obtained, on the basis of which a comparative analysis of the working process of the engine using two types of fuel was carried out.
