The results of the study of existing types of computer processing of photo images are presented. The paper establishes the principles of grouping methods for digital processing of photographs using modern graphical software environments. Based on the analysis carried out, a classification\u00a0of photo image processing methods\u00a0as been developed by the degree of impact on the original image and the complexity of the actions performed. The proposed classification determines the sequence and methods of processing computer technologies within raster and vector digital environments when preparing specialists in photo design. The analysis of the methodology of teaching computer disciplines for students specialization photodesign has been carried out. An integrated approach has been developed that includes a combination of both image correction and image editing technologies and the creation of qualitatively new works of art based on original photographs, as well as the use of photographs or their parts in the development of compositions from components of different origin. The main aspects of the methodology of teaching computer disciplines for designers are identified. The task of studying the relevant courses is to obtain the theoretical foundations and the acquisition of practical skills in the selection and appropriate use of computer technology to solve typical design problems, as well as the methods of creating original specialized technologies for the successful implementation of creative solutions of the designer.
