In economically developed countries, logistics is the basis for the successful operation of economic entities, and the formation of the logistics system provides increased efficiency of economic processes and reduce overall costs of enterprises. Given that the purpose of creating a logistics system is to harmonize the interests of producers, suppliers and consumers, its main areas are: improving the parameters of incoming resource flows based on improving relationships with suppliers; improvement of internal flows, ie results and coordination of actions of divisions of the enterprise; improving relations with consumers, ensuring the most accurate compliance of outgoing flows of goods and services with their requirements.
\nThe purpose of this study is to determine the essence and methodology for choosing the optimal route for the delivery of goods using the hierarchy method. To achieve this goal, a range of research tasks was determined, including: 1) study of the essence and factors of the effectiveness of logistics activities; 2) the formation of a graphical model for choosing the optimal route for the delivery of goods from among alternative proposals using the method of hierarchies; 3) conducting experimental calculations to assess the effectiveness of the available alternative options for the routes of cargo delivery; 4) formation, based on the results of the calculations, the hierarchy of alternative routes and the choice of the most optimal option.
\nHaving studied different approaches to defining the essence of logistics activity, the authors give their generalized definition, which defines the essence of logistics activity in the organic interaction of various business processes (planning, management, transportation, warehousing, storage, and others) through modern information systems, their networks and technologies.
\nThe main factors of the efficiency of logistic activities are the price of transportation, the time of transportation, associated risks, the frequency of dispatch of goods in one way or another, as well as the possibility (ability) of certain options for transportation of goods of different types.
\nOn the basis of the experimental calculations carried out to assess the available alternative options for the delivery of cargo according to certain criteria, the authors formed their hierarchy and determined the most optimal option.
