Improving the investment processes of the domestic economy and reforming market relations cannot be imagined without the existence of an effective stock market, the main task of which is to ensure the successful implementation of the strategy of economic development of Ukrainian business and strengthening the country’s economic sovereignty. In turn, the efficiency and level of development of the stock market directly affects the economy as a whole and its industries, enterprises, each individual investor. Today, the stock market of Ukraine is still in its infancy and lags far behind the markets of more developed countries. Therefore, an urgent and important task today is to study the changing dynamics of the domestic stock market in close cooperation with world stock markets, analysis of methods for estimating its volatility based on the use of modern mathematical tools.
\nThis study is devoted to the analysis of the current state of the Ukrainian stock market, study and classification of existing mathematical and econometric tools for modeling the changing dynamics of stock markets, used by researchers and investors in studying the domestic stock market taking into account its functioning and unstable development.
\nDuring the study, general scientific methods were used: analysis (study of the current state of the stock market of Ukraine), synthesis, comparison, generalization, classification (study of types of domestic stock indices, methods of analysis and modeling of stock markets).
\nAs a result of the research the current state of the stock market of Ukraine is analyzed, the main shortcomings in its functioning and the main directions of their solution are revealed; methods of direct measurement of the results of the stock market of Ukraine in the form of stock indices are studied, as well as a thorough analysis and modern directions of using mathematical methods and models to assess the dynamics of the stock market of Ukraine, studying its volatility.
