Risks are a mandatory and indisputable element of business activity in modern conditions. A large number of risks contributes to a variety of approaches to their classification. Systematization of types and groups of risks is an important tool for their effective management, as it helps to select individual approaches to assessment, measurement, forecasting and selection of response measures. The inconsistency of opinions and approaches presented in the scientific literature, a rather abstract and generalized nature of the regulatory framework, require systematization of approaches to the classification of risks. The aim of the article is to study the types of risks and the formation of a universal generalized classification for the needs of effective management. The study used such scientific methods as: analysis and synthesis (in describing the properties of risks), grouping (in determining the characteristics of risk classification), generalization (in forming a universal classification and choosing the degree of aggregation of risks), formalization (in determining the criteria for distinguishing risks by probability), graphic (to represent the scheme of classification of risks of enterprises). The article defines the general economic universal classification of enterprise risks in order to effectively manage them. Based on the systematization of existing views and approaches to the classification of risks, it is proposed to identify the fourteen most significant features of the classification of enterprise risks: 1) by economic content (operational, market, credit and business risks); 2) in relation to the enterprise (internal and external risks); 3) over time (strategic and current risks); 4) by factors of occurrence (economic, political, socio-ethnic and environmental risks); 5) depending on the nature of the manifestation over time (permanent and temporary risks); 6) depending on the level of losses and the severity of the consequences (acceptable, critical, catastrophic risks); 7) depending on the complexity (simple, complex or complex risks); 8) by source or cause (subjective and objective risks); 9) the level of validity of risk acceptance (reasonable and acceptable, adventurous risks); 10) the level of predictability and assessment (fully predictable (expected) and insufficiently (or difficultly) predictable); 11) the possibility of influencing the risk (managed and unmanaged); 12) by probability of occurrence (risks with high and medium probability, risks with low probability and uncertain); 13) the scale of coverage in relation to the enterprise (micro-risks (local) and macro-risks (global)); 14) by types of possible losses (risks associated with resources and intangible risks). The distribution of risks by types with different degrees of aggregation, importance, characteristics allows to better determine the further methods of analysis and evaluation, to make decisions within the style of risk management policy. Prospects for further research are to build an individual classification of risks on the example of a particular enterprise, taking into account the peculiarities of its activities.<\/p>\n
