The article examines conditions and current features of a formation of the global fishery potential. There are identified key contradictions between the scale of fishing and seafood in view of increasing rates of their consumption and the possibility of aquatic bioresources reproduction. Herewith we\u2019ve specified the critical issues of fishing and aquaculture, caused by global climate changes, pollution of the world ocean, human impact on the aquasystem, poaching. Besides, we\u2019ve proposed a model of a formation of the global market of fish and fishery products, reflecting the peculiarities of production organisation, primary processing, fishery products logistics, as well as fishing industry, where it passes secondary and further processing.\u00a0 This market has been positioned within the structure of global food markets, natural resources, land, finance, investment, innovations, labour. We\u2019ve characterised the volume and specific features of the shaping of demand and offer to fishery products, we\u2019ve analyzed their trivial and geographic structure. We\u2019ve emphasised the importance of infrastructural and regulatory support for the effective functioning of fish and fishery products market. There is shown the scale of fishing according to groups of countries with increasing, declining, stable, unstable and episodic dynamics. Here you can see the world\u2019s leading exporters and importers of fish and fishery products, having a dominant influence upon domestic and global markets. Moreover, we\u2019ve generalised laws of development of the global fishery market \u2013 assortment expansion and diversification, first of all, owing to aquaculture intensification, leadership of rather narrow circle of countries (i.e. the USA, Canada, the Russian Federation), using advantages of their geographical position with an exit to three oceans, technological and organisational \u00a0progress of fishing industry, typical primarily to transnational companies.
