Therefore, the demand for products from it is constantly growing. Growing hemp is much safer for the environment than growing cotton. In addition, hemp fiber neutralizes toxins, prevents the development of pathogenic bacteria, does not create conditions that interfere with metabolic processes in the skin. Despite intensive selection work to reduce the content of tetrahydrocannabinol, Ukrainian scientists have managed to preserve the main value of the culture – the ability to form a high yield of stems and fibers.\u00a0Modern technologies allow the use of hemp fiber for the production of various types of fabrics, namely for technical fabrics or geotextiles, for household fabrics or knitwear. Hemp textiles have high strength, water resistance and wear resistance, antibacterial and antiseptic properties. The fabric is shape- and color-resistant, so such clothes retain the same shape and color as the original product, even after several dozen wash cycles. Hemp fabric has high strength and practicality, does not cause allergies, creates temperature and energy balance, has antiseptic and wound-healing functions, because the fiber retains 20% of oil, which is extremely healing. A special difference between hemp fiber and synthetic fiber is its antistatic and tissue hygiene.\u00a0A significant increase in production and expansion of the range of various types of hemp products in Ukraine, justified the importance of in-depth studies of the range and properties of hemp-containing textile materials and products for various purposes, assessing their quality and competitiveness. Therefore, the article substantiates the expediency of increasing the volume of cultivation of technical hemp for the production of various goods from them in Ukraine. In Ukraine, practical experience has identified the need for the development of the following major industries: breeding and agricultural technologies of modern hemp; clothing and footwear (fabrics, knitwear and footwear made of hemp fiber); cellulose and others. Regarding the textile direction, one of the most promising is the creation of a new range of materials and special purpose products.
