In the conditions the worsening of environmental problems and the gradual direction of economic transformation make it necessary to improve the effectiveness of State regulation of environmental management on the principles of sustainable development and ensure the country’s environmental security. The State environmental policy is based on the principle that the management of natural resources and environmental security is part of the State’s national development strategy. The modern stage of development of environmental regulation must necessarily reflect the desire of society to implement the concept of sustainable development and be focused on coordinating environmental efforts at all levels of government. Despite the existence of a significant amount of scientific work, the features of the assessment and management of the environmental component of sustainable development do not fully remain studied, the features of investing in environmental activities require research in Ukraine. The main purpose of the article is to study the features of the assessment, investment and management of the environmental component of sustainable development.
\nThe article considers the impact of the environmental component on sustainable development. Monitoring of non-financial reports of individual economic entities was carried out from the point of view of environmental investment. It has been proven that the economic impact of social, environmental investment can be measured. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the country currently has certain methods for measuring quantitative indices of environmental investments. And although each of the indices has certain errors, taken in comparison they make it possible to fairly objectively assess the economic effect of environmental and social investments. The article proposes methods for assessing the effectiveness of management of the environmental component of sustainable development and summarizes indices for assessing environmental investment.
