The article considers the problems of the tourism industry of the state and regions in the context of innovation. The study pays special attention to theoretical and methodological approaches to innovation, which is associated with the need for in-depth analysis of practical sources of investment, technological, scientific and international investment decisions.
\nThe purpose of this article is search for ways and further implementation of complex and specific characteristics of innovative activity of regional tourist markets.
\nSystematized types of innovation activities that are different for each structure. The views of scientists on the importance of innovation activity in tourism enterprises are synchronized. Three priority innovation sectors are concentrated, according to which the tourism sector is developing. International experience has been used to more objectively form a scientific hypothesis, where it has been clarified that the greatest weight in the investment favorableness of tourism belongs to service investments. Innovations in tourism are classified according to their content, the innovation environment with factors influencing the development of tourism is outlined. The conclusions are concretized and the ways of further activation of the tourism industry on the basis of introduction of the innovative model of development are outlined.
\nThe place and importance of innovation in the system of economic development goals and the effective functioning of regional tourism markets is difficult to overestimate, given that the introduction of an innovation model in view of current changes. In addition, the efficiency of tourism through the introduction of innovations creates a favorable environment for small and medium-sized businesses, stimulating human resources, improving work efficiency, providing better quality services and more.
