\u00a0The components of the mechanism of state support for the development of energy saving in Ukraine are analysed in the article. The discrepancy between the availability of own energy resources and the need for them, the exhaustion of fuel and energy resources, the aggravation of environmental problems caused by the extraction, transportation, processing and consumption of energy resources outline the trend of aggravation of energy issues in the world in general and in Ukraine in particular. Energy saving and energy efficiency are becoming priority areas of energy policy in more and more countries, due to the depletion of fuel and energy resources, increasing man-made impact on the environment, the mismatch of own resources and the need for them. Ukraine is an energy-deficient country that today only partially meets its fuel and energy needs through its own resources, which has a negative impact on its energy security. Therefore, energy saving policy is a necessary condition for further development of the country. State regulation of energy efficiency, as a process of creating conditions for optimal use of energy resources, should create conditions for public authorities to develop state energy efficiency policy, define and effectively apply mechanisms for its implementation. Existence of regulatory measures of energy efficiency of some countries of the world is considered and a comparative assessment of their effectiveness in Ukraine and the world is made. Today, all possible tools to influence the efficiency of energy consumption are implemented in Ukraine, but the efficiency of energy use is very low. Government regulation, depending on the purpose, may have a supportive or restraining direction. The mechanism of state regulation of energy saving development in Ukraine should support efficient energy consumption. The structure of the complex mechanism of state support for the development of energy saving in Ukraine is determined. The peculiarities of implementation of the energy saving policy at the macro level are considered in the article.<\/p>\n
