The purpose of the article is to assessment of the current state, identification of problems and prospects of development of hotel industry in Lviv region. The main indicators of development of the hotel industry of Lviv region are considered. In 2017, the number of hotels in the region was 277. Between 2013 and 2017, the number of accommodated persons increased by 76.6%. The share of foreigners accommodated is insignificant, accounting for 13.9 % in 2017. It is established that the Lviv region is in the first place among the regions of Ukraine by the number of hotel enterprises (11.2 % of their total number in Ukraine) and receives 15.7 % of the total revenues from services rendered in Ukraine. The factors that stimulate and hinder the development of the hotel industry of Lviv region are revealed. The tendencies of development of hotel management are determined. The main areas of hotel specialization are specialization in wellness services, agro-hotels, eco-hotels, business hotels. There are 4 international and 4 national hotel chains operating in the region. There are various types of innovations that can be implemented in the hotel industry in order to increase its competitiveness. Thus, Lviv region has good preconditions for the development of the hotel industry and tourism. The measures for activating the development of the hotel sector are given. Lviv region has good preconditions for the development of the hotel industry and tourism. Main directions of activation of development of the hotel industry of Lviv region: creation of favourable investment climate, economic and tax encouragement of activity of hotel enterprises; modernization of the material and technical base of hotels; introduction of innovations; promotion of tourism development; participation in international tourism events; training of personnel; improving the quality of service in hotels.<\/p>\n
