Trade activity of the country is the main driver of its economic and social development Trading operations contribute to: the sale and purchase of necessary resources, currency exchange, increased communication between partners, the conclusion of trade agreements and, in the conditions of competition, improving the quality of products. Foreign trade, in turn, allows to strengthen the interconnections between the countries of the world, to obtain foreign products into the domestic consumer market and to sell domestic products on the world market. Sales of high-tech and competitive products on the international market indicate the production and economic capabilities of the country, and the purchase of goods on the world market, in turn, allows to determine the main demand of the population of the country. In order to have a comprehensive understanding of Ukraine’s place on the world market and to identify the main commodities, entities entering the market, it is advisable to consider Ukraine’s foreign trade in the context of regions. Each region of Ukraine specializes in the production of certain groups of goods that are exported and at the same time are consumers of imported products. The article deals with issues related to the activities of the regions of Ukraine and their participation in foreign trade in 2018. A rating of regions of Ukraine in 2018 was conducted to identify the most socio-economically developed areas and those in need of additional assistance. Changes in the rating of the place of the regions in the overall rating of the foreign trade turnover in 2018 compared to the “pre-war” 2014 are analyzed. The structure of participants of foreign economic activity by factors is presented and results are presented using the method of graphical analysis. The results of the study can be used in the analysis of the overall situation of regional development of Ukraine, as well as to determine the socioeconomic development of a particular region.<\/p>\n
