The article analyzes the financing of health care in European countries. The level of per capita expenditures, frequent health care expenditures from GDP are considered. Among EU countries, Liechtenstein has spent 8,380 euros per capita, which is 19 times the minimum. The highest rates are in Germany, France and Sweden. It is also established that the level of health care financing in Ukraine is more than ten times lower than the European average. The main sources of funding for the health care system are considered, including the main state funds, the second place belongs to the schemes of compulsory health insurance. Government programs provided 28.25% of health care expenditures in 208, compulsory health insurance 51.33%. More than 50% of expenditures were on medical and rehabilitation services in the vast majority of countries. 18.8% was spent on medical supplies, in third place the cost of long-term treatment – 16.1%. Factors influencing the development of health care: new technologies, new services, changes in disease treatment protocols, growing demand for medical services, etc.
