The article analyzes the development of project management in Ukrainian companies based on the results of the “Project Management Rating”. In 2018, participants in the project management rating had to fill out a questionnaire, which consisted of the following sections: information about the company, information about projects (number of project managers, number of project team specialists with PMP status, number of implemented projects per year, number of current projects per year, availability of automated project management system, availability of corporate standards (regulations and procedures) of project management, average project duration by types of projects: modernization, construction and reconstruction, implementation of information systems, development and launch of a new brand or product, development of branch sales network, R&D, business closure, market entry in other countries, organizational development and others), methodologies used (Waterfall, Kanban, Lean, Scrum or others), assessment of the maturity of the project management system, features of project management, features of project portfolio management, company strategy and project implementation). It is established that the leader among the application of project management is the IT sector, which is developing rapidly in Ukraine. Among the surveyed companies, the IT sector is more than 20%. In second place are the companies FMCG. The intensification of the application of project management in the production sphere has been revealed. Many companies in this sector have strategic Project Offices. Project management and resource planning are also actively used in the banking sector. Despite the fact that project management is associated with such industries as construction, IT, R&D, economics, engineering, shipbuilding and aircraft, etc., but in modern conditions has spread to all areas of human activity and due to the managerial features of this approach allows affect the level of competitiveness of enterprises, regardless of the size and volume of production.
