At present, population growth, urban sprawl, persistent environmental degradation, reduction of depletion of energy sources are not purely national, they are intertwined with international trends and are common. As a result, in the conditions of the present, and in the tendencies for the future, acceptance of the reasonable ecological – economic decisions concerning the management of territories becomes the main paradigm both at the international, and at national levels.
\nThe analysis shows that globalization is provoking increased pressure on the environment, and trends in its development are accompanied by accelerated demand for related goods, works, services, infrastructure, jobs, land and affordable housing. Thus, with a small territorial load of the Earth’s land on urban areas, the consumption of energy produced by mankind and the amount of carbon emissions they make are catastrophic.
\nIn addition, it was determined that the application of modeling the impact of urban areas on the environment, which include the multi-vector nature of this impact and a long period of time, indicate clear negative trends that threaten the health and lives of urban populations, including, for example, floods , coastal erosion, sea level rise and extreme weather events in coastal parts of cities.
\nMeasures to halt negative processes require at least a five-fold reduction in carbon emissions. In general, in order to further avoid sustainable human, social and economic losses, mitigate the risk of disasters and climate change, management decisions should be aimed at stabilizing and improving the environmental and economic sustainability of urban areas.
