The paper presents the research results to assess the level of competition in the field of global e-sports for twenty countries that are leaders in 2020 in terms of earned cash prizes in various competitions and tournaments. The systematization of literature sources and approaches to determining competition among the world’s countries in e-sports has shown that this issue is not sufficiently studied. The urgency of solving this scientific problem is that with the increase in the contingent of players, spectators, and sponsors to the gaming industry, the attention of the world scientific community to this industry is proportionally increasing. To determine the methodological approaches, the available classical statistical methods for estimating Analyzed the level of concentration and competition: Lorentz coefficient, entropy index, Gini-index, Bain coefficient, Tobin index, concentration coefficient, market concentration coefficient – Herfindahl-Hirschman index. The method of determining the Lorentz index, entropy index, Herfindahl-Hirschman index, and concentration factor is used for the gaming industry. What found that in 2010-2020 the e-sports industry has a moderate level of concentration, which leads to favorable conditions for any country in the world to take a leading position. Among the studied sample of countries, the most significant level of influence in China was in terms of earned prize awards. USA (included in the Top 3 countries in terms of earnings) – has an average level of influence because it has relatively low average earnings per athlete. It is established that on the scale of complete equality of countries participating in e-sports tournaments and absolute inequality between them – the field of e-sports is of mediocre importance. The use of known statistical methods of competition assessment, taking into account the specifics of the industry, is proposed.<\/p>\n
