Education is one of the most important factors of economic development, ensuring a decent level of well-being of the nation and maintaining the socio-cultural level of the population. Today in Ukraine and the world due to economic and other difficulties a large number of people can not afford to study at university. At the same time, modern technology is evolving rapidly, making it possible to learn new skills, raise your intellectual level and even get a new specialization online.
\nThe article is devoted to the analysis of methodical aspects of application of online learning in the world and models of its estimation. The main trends in the development of online learning were considered and a comparison of the largest online platforms for learning, as well as the analysis of the development of online learning in the world were made.
\nBased on the analysis of approaches to the assessment of online learning, the main methods, and models of assessment in this area were identified. Such models include: CIPP model, focused on evaluation goals model, SCORM model. Bitdegree and G2 services, which evaluate online learning platforms and allow potential users to make optimal choices were also considered.
\nBased on a comparative analysis of the most popular online platforms, it was determined that EdX is the best choice for obtaining a high-quality qualification from a reputable educational institution for a small price, while Coursera is the best solution for obtaining an online degree if you can invest in studying significant funds; Udemy is suitable for those who want to learn a new skill, and Prometheus will allow those who do not speak English to study at the best universities.
