The identification of Ukraine`s competitive advantages in supporting food security during the pandemic araized by COVID-19 and the factors of growth in exports of Ukrainian agricultural products became the main idea of the article.
\nUkraine is a motherland of a significant part of the world`s natural resources. At the moment there is an increase of fertile soil deficit in the world as a whole. Uncontrolled population growth on the planet \u2013 one of the main reason of this phenomenon. This enables Ukraine to be one of the main exporters of agricultural products in the world and to develop its economy. Ukraine can supply itself with almost all basic types of food. Regarding grain production, it equates to 341.3% of country demand. The agricultural sector of Ukraine is 14% of the country`s GDP. For about 40% in the total structure of Ukraine`s exports is the share of agricultural exports, and the agro-industrial complex is the main source of currency inflow in Ukraine and is also a key factor in maintaining the trade balance of the country. The basis of agricultural exports is the export of raw materials, and imports \u2013 processed food.
\nSince Ukraine is an absolutely agrarian land and a large number of lands are suitable for agricultural production \u2013 it gives it significant benefits for self-sufficiency of the population, and for the development of the economy. In Ukraine, it is crusialy important to develop food-processing industry and to export the ready-made agricultural products, processed food which are much more expensive. The factors influencing export growth of the agricultural products from Ukraine are: the growth of world population, Same time Ukraine stays a country with the highly productive agricultural lands and big potencial. At the moment we are facing the rapid development of the Asian economies and increase of reqirements for external supply;the global changes to the climate do not bring positive to self-sufficiency of highly populated countries; not the least role is played by the trade conflict between the United States and China. All this together creates the preconditions for the growth of the importance of Ukraine as a world granary.
