\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The article studies the main aspects of the causes of corruption risks in the sphere of public authorities in the context of economic security. The aim of the article is to elaborate the substantiation of the causes of corruption risks in the sphere of public authorities in the context of economic security in the conditions of growing crisis and structural transformations. In order to achieve the purpose and fulfill the set task, the author has brought up materials of leading scientists in the sphere of public administration. The methodological basis is the growth of general scientific methods, such as: synthesis (determining the features of the concepts of “corruption”, “corruption risks”), analysis (on the dynamics of the place of Ukraine in the Corruption Perceptions Index), systematization (grouping and substantiation of the causes of corruption risks), generalization (substantiation of conclusions and subsequent research). The modern approaches to defining the essence of the concept of corruption were considered. The main theoretical basis for defining corruption risks as new corruption phenomena was examined. The analysis of the dynamics of the Corruption Perceptions Index for Ukraine was conducted and the main trends of changes in this indicator were revealed. The scheme of interdependence of causes of corruption risks and economic security of public authorities was proposed and substantiated. For the Ukrainian sphere of public administration, corruption as a phenomenon is a major threat that inhibits social and economic development, affects the level of economic security, deepens the crisis in the economy, reduces welfare, worsens the investment, innovation climate, inhibits international cooperation. all relevant sectors of the country. The main causes of corruption risks, grouped according to different directions, were identified. The priority directions of prevention of causes of corruption risks in the public sphere of Ukraine are proposed. Further research of this area will be based on the materials presented in the article. The analyzed causes of corruption risks in the sphere of public authorities in the context of economic security need to be taken into account in determining the effectiveness and efficiency of domestic mechanisms of anti-corruption policy.<\/p>\n
