The authors of the article analyze the existing approaches to defining the category of \u00abdevelopment\u00bb. Most of the analyzed definitions characterize the concept of \u00abdevelopment\u00bb as a process (improvement, transition, emergence, strengthening\u2026), a change (irreversible, qualitative, quantitative, characteristics of the system\u2026), a movement, a condition, a status or transition of positions. The authors of the article proposed to define a development as a process of transformation of the object\u2019s status, conditioned by the changes in external and internal environment. According to the authors, the development of the organization is associated with changes in the internal and external environment (both positive and negative) and with the need for effective management decisions that will ultimately lead to the transformation of the organization\u2019s status. It was noted that changes in the external and internal environment create not only problems that complicate the existence of the organization, but also contribute to opportunities that stimulate their development. Euler \u2013 Venn circles were used for visual geometric modelling of categories such as \u00abchange\u00bb, \u00abproblem \/ opportunity\u00bb, \u00abeffective management solution\u00bb, \u00abdevelopment\u00bb, and the relationships between them. The universal set is represented in the form of a rectangle (this set consists of changes), and the sets are represented in the form of circles (that is a problem \/ opportunity, effective management decision, development). The duality of the presentation of this approach means the effectiveness of decisions and their implementation. In the process of making managerial decisions, scientists usually face a situation of right \/ wrong or rather productive \/ unproductive decision-making in a certain situation, which causes or neutralizes a further development. The presented tool is useful from the point of usage by organization\u2019s management to understand the deep processes of the management system’s response to changes in the environment in which they operate.
