In the context of globalization processes and external challenges (economic crisis, coronavirus pandemic), Ukrainian cities and regions have faced the need for a strategic approach and crisis management to the development of the tourism industry. Most stages of the tourism development strategy require an analysis of the current state of development of the tourism sector within a specific destination. Unfortunately, the Ukrainian system of data collection and analysis in the development of the tourism industry was marked by its imperfections. However, if this destabilizing factor did not play a role in a stable period of economic development, the global crisis shocks necessitated the improvement of tools for creating and working with DataBases in tourism as a way to make more efficient use of limited resources.
\nThe aim of the research \u2013 to explore the possibility of using DataBases\u00a0 in tourism sector on the defferent levels including regiomal, national and global management. The research has defined the term of DataBases in tourism sector; majority and alternative methods of collection and analysis in the tourism sector has been analyzed. The classification of tourism DataBases according to three types of information sources has been presented: 1) statistical data; 2) marketing survey data; Internet monitoring data (Big Data). The possibilities of using DataBases by the subjects of the tourism industry has been analyzed. An example of collecting and analyzing data on tourism industry development in Ukrainian city Lviv has been given. Recommendations of improving the DataBases tools in the tourism sector have been made.
\nThe main propositions for representatives of travel and tourism sector were increase using Big Data to gather new information from actual tourists to calculate and analyze for effective strategic planning.
