In the context of globalization, investment risk management plays an increasingly important role in the effective functioning of any enterprises that expand their activities outside national markets. This applies, first of all, to transnational corporations, which operate with huge tangible and intangible assets, multinational financial flows. The management of international companies pays more and more attention to the search for non-financial risk management instruments, new models of investment decision-making, staff development of investment units, the use of the synergistic effect of cross-cultural differences in the corporation.
\nThe article investigates the aspects of the mechanism of management of foreign economic activity. Elements of the organization of management of export and import processes at the level of the region are revealed. The principles of formation of effective foreign economic activity are given. The essence of risk management of international investment projects is determined; the systematization of sources (risk factors) is offered. The investment process is always associated with risk due to the fact that the income \/ profit and expenses from the project are difficult to predict at the time of the decision to sell the investment object, it is important to pay attention to the significant growth of investment activities of TNCs in host countries. contributes to increasing their international competitiveness. The risk management assessment covers the assessment and selection of alternatives, as well as the analysis of costs and benefits and the assessment of new risks that may be caused by the choice of a particular method of risk management. A model of risk management of international investment projects is proposed, which provides a comprehensive approach to effective risk management and requires constant monitoring of risk sources by their types, forms and significance.
