Natural, climatic and historical conditions have created a powerful resource base in Ukraine for the development of the tourist and recreational industry and the development of the corresponding infrastructure. The main factors of attractiveness of recreational and tourist resources are nature, climate, art, history, food, architecture, religion.
\n\u0422he article is devoted to the analysys of the role of excursion activities in the development of domestic tourism. The problems are described that hinder the development of the tourism industry due to the lack of an extensive system of information and advertising support, slow development of the tourism infrastructure and low paying capacity of domestic tourists.
\nThe places of the historical and cultural heritage, which today are not popular among tourists are revealed, that narrows the scope of using the excursion potential of many regions of Ukraine.
\nThe rich historical and cultural potential of the small Dnieper town of Kremenchug is proposed to use by creating new excursion routes.
\nIn the paper is noted that excursion activities in Ukraine need to expand the regulatory framework with a clear consolidation and separation of the concepts of \u00abguide\u00bb and \u00abtour guide\u00bb and other specialists of the tourism industry; strengthening and structuring of qualification requirements for the position of \u00abtour guide\u00bb (further development is also required by similar requirements for other specialists of tourist support); the use of a differentiated approach in the preparation of excursion specialists and compulsory practical training after the completion of the preparatory courses; accelerating the establishment of the work of accreditation commissions and the creation of methodological councils at the subdivisions of the State Service for Tourism and Resorts of Ukraine at regional state administrations and empowering them with sufficient powers to resolve issues of tourist and excursion work.
