The main financial resource of enterprises is equity. The purpose of this work is to form areas for improving the efficiency of equity use as a component of financial support for innovation. The structure of sources of financing of innovative activity of the enterprises of Ukraine is analyzed. The components of own sources of financing of innovative activity, in particular retained earnings and depreciation deductions, contributions of founders in increase of the registered capital are analyzed. It is substantiated that in order to increase the level of competitiveness of the enterprise it is necessary to ensure sustainable economic growth, which provides, first of all, more rational use of resources and profit maximization. In a market economy, profit is the most important factor in stimulating production and entrepreneurial activity of the enterprise and creates a financial basis for its expansion, meeting the social and material needs of the workforce. The place of profit and profitability for the development of the enterprise is investigated. The importance of communication links between manufacturers, the market of scientific and technical products and consumers of innovative products is substantiated. It is determined that domestic enterprises have significant potential in using their own capital to finance innovation activities. It is advisable for industrial enterprises to review the quality of depreciation policy. It is very important to actively use the intellectual potential of employees. In order to increase R&D resources, it is important to work closely with other innovative enterprises. It is important to actively use marketing innovations.
