Охарактеризовано здоров’я людини в системі досягнення цілей сталого розвитку та його значимість в контексті формування та розвитку людського потенціалу. Висвітлено підходи до трактування поняття «людський потенціал». Надано авторське визначення поняття «людський потенціал» як сукупності природних, генетично закладених та набутих можливостей, які можуть бути використані для досягнення індивідуальних та суспільних цілей і залежно від рівня осучаснення можливостей, підтримання / не підтримання в належному стані та застосування за певних умов можуть принести різні результати. Для забезпечення здоров’я людини як базової, фундаментальної складової формування та розвитку людського потенціалу та в контексті збереження міцного здоров’я як однієї з глобальних цілей сталого розвитку акцентовано увагу на таких аспектах: культура здорового харчування; культура здорового способу життя; система охорони здоров’я.

The human health in the system of achievement of the goals of sustainable development and its importance in the context of formation and development of human potential are characterized. Approaches are highlighted to the interpretation of the concept of “human potential”, which reveal its meaning as a set of abilities, in the context of the main element of national wealth, in the context of the heritage of the nation, identification with human capital, reflecting only instrumental views on this concept. The author defines the concept of “human potential” as a set of natural, genetically laid (including health, abilities, talents: for example, unique timbre of voice and musical hearing, etc.) and acquired opportunities (intellectual, physical, sociocultural abilities, abilities, skills, competences, qualifications, etc.) that can be used to achieve individual and societal goals; and depending on the level of opportunity upgrading (continuous development: improvement, advanced training, etc.), maintaining / not maintaining in good condition (health status, taking into account lifestyle, quality of nutrition, ecology) and application under certain conditions (socio-cultural, economic, demographic, employment, motivational, etc.) can produce different results. In order to ensure human health as a basic, fundamental component of the formation and development of human potential, and in the context of maintaining good health as one of the global goals of sustainable development, attention has been focused on such aspects as: a healthy food culture (steps in its organization at the state level to regulation / regulation of quality standards, protection of the content of harmful to the organism components in food); a culture of healthy lifestyles (combating bad habits, including through a system of preventive measures, changing public consciousness, sensible attitudes towards health); health care system (reforming the system to ensure the proper provision of medical services to patients, restoring, preserving their health as the most valuable potential, including for the implementation of productive activities in various fields).
